Mr. Vijay Yevale started the business of selling milk during his college days. He used to collect milk from rural areas and deliver it to customers' homes in the city. He developed very good relations with his customers through the years and his liking for business increased. From this, Milk Corner at Rajarampuri was born. Milk Corner, started by Mr. Vijay Yevale and his wife Mrs. Vidya Yevale, is a glowing example of how a business started in a very small space can become successful and flourish. From selling milk, Milk Corner has not just forayed into making milk products, sweets and savoury snacks, but has transformed into a big-brand retail store as well. Milk Corner strives to make their products with the same love and sincerity that a mother pours into making food for her family. Because of these qualities, the name "Milk Corner" has earned a unique trust and respect in Kolhapur's food industry.

Sale of Gir cow milk, ghee

We are still passionate about the original profession which created Milk Corner and the "Yevale's" brand. Considering the needs of our customers, we have started home delivery of Gir cow milk in Rajarampuri and Pratibhanagar areas. We have also made available for our customers pure ghee made from Gir cow milk using the traditional (Bilona) method.

Mr. Vijay Yevale hails from Kameri in Sangli district. He came over to Kolhapur for education. He began the business of selling milk in partnership with a friend during his last year of B.Sc. He used to procure fresh milk from his friend's village, which was about twenty kilometres from Kolhapur, and deliver it to customers' homes in Rajarampuri on a bicycle. He would have to ride around fifty kilometres on his bicycle every day. But he still kept this business going for seven years. In 1989, he started Milk Corner in a small place in Rajarampuri sixth lane. He received support from his wife Mrs. Vidya Yevale. Along with milk, he gradually started selling milk products like Shrikhand, Amrakhand, Basundi, Paneer etc. Because of this, a large quantity of milk was required on daily basis. So, he started sourcing milk from organisations around Kolhapur. Considering the growing demand for his milk products, he kept increasing the production of these products. He carried out modernisation of Milk Corner in 1996, and took the courageous decision to introduce a "self service" model. Customers responded very positively to this concept.

Milk Corner's pure and fresh milk products have always attracted buyers. Customers from not just Rajarampuri, but all over Kolhapur flock to Milk Corner to buy the freshest and purest products that don't compromise on taste. Because of the quality of the products and excellent service, Milk Corner has developed many long term customers. With this strong backing from his customers, in 2003, he started a factory at Rajarampuri eighth lane for producing sweet and savoury snacks. Mr. Pandurang Yadav (Nana), who has been with Mr. Vijay Yevale since 1996, oversees the whole production process at the factory. Mr. Yevale states that he played a big role in the success of Milk Corner. As of today, Milk Corner at Rajarampuri sixth lane exists in the form of a grand retail store where quality milk products, Bengali sweets, Gulabjamun, Malai Barfi, Kaju Katli, Ice cream, Namkeen and household items like Puranpoli, Ukadiche Modak etc. are available. Due to his transparent and trustworthy service, Milk Corner did not remain closed for a single day during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second generation of the Yevale family has entered the business to serve the customers. Mr. Soham Yevale, son of Mr. Vijay Yevale, constantly strives to improve customer service while managing daily affairs of Milk Corner.

Many women make very good quality food products for their families. They take satisfaction in the fact that their families appreciate their products. But they don't get widespread recognition for their products and their culinary skills. Neither do they get any monetary benefit from it. Mr. Yevale's efforts have made it possible for many such women to earn a steady income from their culinary skills. Milk Corner places orders for such products with women who have excellent skill in making them. These products are then made available for sale at Milk Corner retail store. Many women have started getting a steady income and financial benefits from this activity.
